Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Tongqiao Decoction combined with budesonide in the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) due to deficiency of lung and spleen-qi. Methods: 98 patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 49 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with nasal irrigation as a basic treatment, while the control group was treated with budesonide on this basis. The observation group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine Yiqi Tongqiao Yin on the basis of the control group, with a treatment course of 4 weeks for both groups. Observation of clinical efficacy, Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome score, SNOT-20 scale score, Lund Kennedy and Lund Mackey scores, serum CRP,TNF-α,IL-6 levels and incidence of adverse reactions. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group (93.18%) was higher than that of the control group (75.56%) (P<0.05). After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, SNOT-20 scale, Lund Kennedy and Lund Mackey scores of both groups decreased compared to before treatment (P<0.05), and the observation group showed a more significant decrease (P<0.05); The serum CRP, TNF-α, and IL-6 levels in both groups decreased compared to before treatment (P<0.05), and the observation group showed a more significant decrease (P<0.05)There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Yiqi Tongqiao Yin and Budesonide can significantly improve the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and quality of life of CRS patients with lung spleen deficiency type, which is superior to simple nasal spray hormone treatment. The mechanism may be related to the downregulation of CRP,TNF-αand IL-6 levels.
