Taking tonics is one of GeHongs health preservation methods. Argumentation within Baopuzi, GeHong described the basic point of view on taking tonics. Taking tonics, including taking“also Dan liquid gold”and taking the natural vegetation and other crude drugs. As GeHongs view, taking“also Dan liquid gold”can live forever,but taking natural vegetation only can prolong life. This article is introducing briefly about the crude drugs from the text in Baopuzi.
