Objective: to carry out the pharmacognostical study on the root of the Paeonia lutea Franch. Methods: adopting the way of source identification, material morphology, microscopic characters, chemical identification to study Paeonia lutea Franch. Results: It is confirmed that Paeonia lutea Franch.has obvious Pharmacognosy characteristics. Conclusion: Providing a basic research data for establishing quality standard.
