The Effect of Combined Treatment of Chinese Medicine and Western Medicineon Diabetic Nephropathy：A Meta-analysis

Objective：To assess the effect of combined treatment of Chinese medicine and western medicine on diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods：Randomized or semi-randomized controlled trials (RCT or CCT) which compared combined treatment of Chinese medicine and western medicine with western medicine alone were collected.The methodological qualities of included studies were evaluated and meta-analysis was performed.Results：69 Chinese RCTs and 1 CCT were included in this review.All trials were classified as grade C.The results of meta-analysis demonstrated that compared with western medicine alone, combination with Chinese medicine could significantly decrease the urinary albumin excretion rate，the 24-hour urinary albumin excretion，the 24-hour urinary protein excretion，blood urea nitrogen and serum.
