Abstract:Objective: To research the effect of electro-acupuncture for “Baihui” “Fengfu” and “Yanglingquan” in the treatment of the PD model rat and reveal the oxidative stress mechanism of the acupuncture preventing and curing Parkinson’s Disease(PD).Methods: The PD model rats were induced by injecting 6-OHDA into the right striatum,The valid PD rats were randomly divided into four groups:electro-acupuncture group,Madopa group,Madopa/ electro-acupuncture group and model control group, normal control group were also established.All groups were given corresponding treatments.At last, the contents of malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione(GSH),GSH-peroxidase(GSH-Px),and superoxidedismutase(SOD) in nigrostriatal area were measured with chemical chromatometry.Results:Electro-acupuncture group, Madopa group, Madopa/electro-acupuncture group can increase significantly the average activity of SOD,GSH-PX,GSH,and decrease obviousely the average level of MDA.Conclusion:Electro-acupuncture can enhance the antioxidant capacity of the nerve cells of the substantia nigra in PD model rat, reducing the damage of free radicals on the brain.
