In tradition， the main reason of lumber disc herniation is the pressure due to nucleus pulposus of intervertebral disc. Recently， many research reported， the one of most important reasons of lumber disc herniation is inflammatory response. Of all non-surgical treatments， electroacupuncture has its own advantage. Many literatures suggest， electroacupuncture can reduce the release of inflammatory mediators and the pain caused by material， relieve the pressure， eliminate inflammatory edema and promote the blood circulation， finally can improve the clinical symptom.
