Abstract:Post-stroke constipation is one of the common complications in stroke patients, and alleviating constipation is of great significance to the rehabilitation of stroke patients. This paper explicates the theoretical basis of acupuncture for the treatment of post-stroke constipation, and discusses from four modes of matching meridian based acupoint selection, local acupoint selection, syndrome differentiation based acupoint selection and application of specific acupoint selection, to summarize the acupoints that are routinely used to treat constipation, in clinical practice, to better exert the advantages of acupuncture for clinical treatment.
