Objective To analyze the medication rule of traditional Chinese medicine compound prescription for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(CPOD). Methods The Chinese medicine compound prescriptions for COPD were retrieved by searching Patent Search and Analysis of SIPO. Then the data were put into the TCMISS V2.5 and Apriori algorithm, association rules and entropy clustering method of complex system were used for data analysis. Results A total of 86 patented formulations were input，including 313 medicinal materials. For the prescriptions of COPD，single ingredient with high frequency included Astragalus membranaceus，Apricot kernel, Fritillaria Thun-bergli and so on. The main compatibility of the drug model is to invigorate lung and spleen，invigorate Qi and activate blood circulation， and relieve cough and reduce sputum. At last, 5 new prescriptions were got. Conclusion The main treatment methods in TCM patented formulations for COPD are mainly based on the treatment of lung, spleen and kidney, focus on invigorating the lung and spleen to relieve cough and phlegm, activating blood circulation to remove blood stasis, smoothing asthma and nourishing the kidney. And the deficiency of lung, spleen and kidney and the interaction of phlegm and blood stasis is the main pathogenesis of COPD. This study provides certain reference for the clinical treatment of COPD and the research and development of new drugs.
