Narrative medicine, which was born at the beginning of this century, has been paid attention in China in recent decade, while its "localization development" and clinical application promotion are still blocked and with a lot of things to do. Start from the realistic dilemma of narrative medicine, take the core thought of Confucian culture as the pointcut, and analyze the commonalities between Confucianism and narrative medicine in terms of empathy, reflection and doctor-patient joint decision-making. Then through the examples of ancient Chinese doctors and the implementation path in rheumatology center of Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is believed that Confucianism has profound guiding value for the clinical practice of narrative medicine, and the development of narrative medicine in China is promising.
