Abstract:Embodied Philosophy is the philosophical foundation of cognitive linguistics, which emphasizes the decisive role of human experience in conceptual system. Focusing on the cognitive basis of language and the cognitive transformation in translation, it holds that translation is a kind of cognitive activity across languages. Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor is the epitome of the systematic Chinese medical thought and conceptual system which originated from the ancient Chinese people?蒺s experience of nature and man. To study the translation phenomena in the medical classic from the perspective of Embodied Philosophy means the exploration of the origin of language and the cognitive translation mechanism. This paper combines the three basic principles of Embodied Philosophy with a number of translation cases in Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor aiming to provide fresh examples for cognitive translation and theoretical basis for the translation of Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor.
