This article briefly describes the current situation, challenges and future development of health care in Guyana. At present, the mode of multidisciplinary clinic of pain management is the characteristic and highlight of Guyana acupuncture. However, the method of acupuncture practice is relatively limited, and some patients have less health awareness in Guyana. Acupuncture could keep pace with latest development according to western dry needling and integrate new knowledge in foreign exchanges. The idea includes cultivating local talents according to their aptitude without sticking to one pattern, deepening inter-disciplinary cooperation and pay more attention to teaching people how to practise. It would improve the curative effect, by enriching the intervention methods of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and guiding the practice of medical exercise. It would be helpful to improve the awareness, identity and influence of TCM by actively disseminating TCM culture and empirical cases to the outside world. Setting up a TCM center to meet the needs of local people for high-quality medical services, it would be the vision of future development and give new era connotation to the Belt and Road Initiative.
