The ancient books of Yi medicine are the basis of Yi medicine clinical prescription medication, and play an important supporting role in the research of key information of classic famous prescriptions. In this paper, the literature research method was adopted to systematize the "diseases, drugs, prescriptions, external treatment" contained in the ancient books for 6 kinds of diseases that were included in the Chinese Medical Collection of Ethnic Minority Medicine volume. A total of 487 diseases have been recorded in the collection, among which "wind evil diseases" are the most representative. The ancient books recorded 2 232 drugs with the characteristics of fresh raw products, rich processing methods, and commonly used parasitic drugs. The 1 516 recorded prescriptions with a variety of usage are single prescriptions, medicinal liquor, compound prescriptions with varied formulae. The recorded 382 external treatment methods were divided into radical treatment methods, evil treatment methods, homing method and other external treatment methods based on Yi doctors' understanding of disease development and life rules. This paper reveals the literature value of the Yi medicine ancient books of disease medication included in the Ethnic Medicine volume of Chinese Medicine Collection.
