Abstract:The school of medicine in southern Yunnan began in Zhuang Qiao and took shape in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Tracing back to its origin, it can be found that as early as the Bronze Age, the Bai indigenous people had mastered the manufacturing technology of simple surgical tools for the treatment of simple surgical diseases. Under the background of the centralized system, with a large number of immigrants into Yunnan and the implementation of government-run medicine, the medicine culture and technology of the Central Plains have been pouring into southern Yunnan since the beginning of the Qin Dynasty, and have been colliding with the local medicine culture and being inclusive, forming the "Southern Yunnan Medicine" with distinct regional characteristics after thousands of years. Today‘s medical schools in southern Yunnan contain various emerging medical schools in Yunnan, integrating regional, national, compatible, practical and contemporary, with academic characteristics such as a long history, diverse schools of thought, integrity and innovation, and inclusiveness.
