Abstract:The translation of terms in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is of great significance for the interna-tionalization of TCM. However, it also faces such challenges as heavy cultural load, complex semantics and differences in language structures. This paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the challenges faced in the translation of TCM terms and, by combining numerous examples, explores the application of such translation strategies as literal translation, free translation, amplification, omission and transliteration in enhancing cultural adaptability. The aim is to improve the accuracy and cultural adaptability of TCM term translation, promote the effective dissemination of TCM culture internationally, provide theoretical and practical references for the translation practice of TCM terms, and contribute to the international dissemination of TCM culture.
