The Japanese Kampo medicine industry has achieved remarkable results in quality management, evidence-based research, and international development, providing a significant reference for the development pathway of China‘s Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) industry. This study adopts case analysis and comparative research methods, taking Tsumura Group-a leading Japanese enterprise-as an example to conduct an in-depth analysis of its core practices in full-chain quality traceability, cultivation and standardization of medicinal materials, evidence-based medical research, and collaborative innovation under the "Industry-Academia-Research" model. The study finds that the success of the Tsumura model stems from the systematic integration of traditional knowledge and modern technology. China‘s TCM industry should, on the basis of fully learning from Japan‘s experience, focus on building a self-reliant and controllable industrial chain system, strengthening clinical evidence, and innovating international cooperation approaches. Accordingly, this paper proposes that China‘s TCM industry should accelerate the establishment of a full-chain quality traceability system, improve the instructions and packaging design of Chinese patent medicines, deepen the "Government-Industry-Academia-Research-Application" collaborative mechanism, and enhance the sustainable development capacity of the industry. The ultimate goal is to achieve a strategic transition from "path learning" to "characteristic leadership."
